Hello and welcome to Prairie Blessings Designs. My name is Lorri Allisen. I am Canadian, and a proud Mom of 3 wonderful kids...my handsome and extremely artistic 21 year old son, my beautiful 20 year old daughter who is my helping hand in this venture (and who has blessed me with my first Grandchild in July /05), and my darling 7 year old son...who definitely has the artistic gift! Up until 7 years ago, we lived on the beautiful West Coast of British Columbia. We moved to the Canadian Prairies in 1998...Edmonton, Alberta to be exact, and have recently moved to Prince George, British Columbia. Although it is wonderful to be back in Beautiful British Columbia, I am keeping my business name Prairie Blessings Designs, to honor three incredible blessings that occured during my life in Alberta...the birth of my son Andrew, the birth of my grand-daughter Caidence, and the start of my home-based business! Each and every day I am thankful for my Prairie Blessings!

I sometimes think I was born with a pencil and paintbrush in my hands… as I have had a passion for art for as long as I can remember. Aside from Art Courses in High School (so many, many years ago…lol) I am self-taught. I feel incredibly blessed that I can be a stay-at-home Mom, doing what I love to do, and be able to raise my young son. I have been selling my Hand Painted Items on Ebay, and my previous web site for over 4 years now, and have started selling Instructional Painting Packets and, now E-Packets as well. Although I mostly do tole painting (gingerbread, primitives, raggedy annies, chickens, and seasonal items), I also love to draw and paint Disney characters (for all the little blessings in my life) and more “realistic” subjects…portraits, landscapes, still lifes, etc. I would have to say that my all time favorite painter is Robert Bateman.

I am thrilled at the incredibly positive response my pattern packets have received on Ebay, and have decided to offer them (and more packets to come often) on my new web site. I hope you like the variety of packets we have so far, and will check back often to see what new designs we have in store for you! Each Pattern Packet will contain Color Photos, Line Drawings, Supply List, and Painting Instructions. If you would rather have your packets quicker, please check out the E-Packets selection. I hope you will enjoy painting my designs as much as I do!

Prairie Blessings Designs also offers unique, handcrafted & handpainted wood items, as well as “refurbished” kitchen & household items (we love to take something old and make it new and purposeful again), and seasonal crafts . Our crafts are created with love, and lots of detail by my daughter and myself. I draw the patterns, she cuts and sands…then I paint and varnish the items. I am very grateful for the skill and patience that my daughter has been blessed with…you would never find me near a scroll saw! A lot of our items are one-of-a-kind, but some are inspired by designs from published artists. We are always open to suggestions from customers, and highly value your input. We would like to thank all the wonderful people who have emailed with ideas and compliments on our work…it means a lot to us!
